About The Foundation

The Jim Green Foundation was established in 2013 as a tribute to Jim Green and as a means to keep building the inclusive communities that he saw possible.

Jim Green was an extraordinary civic leader and community builder; he was compassionate, courageous and tireless in his many public benefit works.  The members who now comprise the Jim Green Foundation felt the need for such a project and came together in January of 2013.

We value ecology and the natural resources around us, and we pay attention to our impact on the environment.

Arts and Culture

We value expression, respectful diversity, and see the power of arts and culture to affect positive change, create meaningful identity, and generate economic development.

Respect for First Nations

We recognize the value of genuine and relevant engagement with local First Nation and indigenous populations, acknowledging the unceded territories on which we are located and the importance of a reconciliation process in all community building efforts.
